We went to Washington (and took lots of pictures)

Actually, we went over a month ago. But a late post is better than no post at all, right?

I had a ballet audition, and so Mom and Little Brother and I were going up to D.C. (Dad couldn't come). We decided to take our best friends, the Ls, with us. Mrs. L is good friends with mom, and the three boys and I have been best friends since the oldest and I were five. Elder brother Tim couldn't come due to college, so it was just J, L, and Miss M, who is Little Brother's age. We set off on Friday morning, ready for some fun.

Left to right: J, me, and L. The "before" picture.

It was a long drive, but we stayed occupied. We played Phase 10 (a card game that you should play if you haven't already- it's a cross between Rummy and Uno) and watched Spiderman 2.

We got into our hotel at around midnight. We loved our rooms- they were adjoining, and looked liked they had actually been designed by a designer, not just assembled randomly. They were very comfortable.

My audition was the next day (Saturday).. But nothing went the way it was supposed to. Due to illness (Miss M), traffic jams, horrid signage, DC-ness, etc., I missed the audition. But since EVERYTHING went badly, we think that it was meant to be. So, we made the best of it, and had a very good time overall. So... pictures (they look better when you click on them, sometimes they are a little squished in this format)!

Mom, J, L, Little Brother, and yours truly set out for the city Saturday at noontide. The weather was nasty, and so was the traffic!

I started the journey in the front seat, but was banished to the back when I got too nervous about the audition.

Not happy that I missed it.

So, we went and saw the National Cathedral.

Then, we went to the center of DC, saw the White House, and decided to just park and walk. So, we ended up beside the Washington Marina. We looked at yachts, the river, and the fishmarket.

 FISH!

Alive and pinching!

 To be continued...
